i hate phones

I am officially without one so now i have to answer the house phone...

Well that leads me to today, I get a "important phone call" One of those recordings that say this is an important phone call please stay on the line for our next agent" Well I do, since these bill collectors have been calling for a Juan Valdez and since this is no longer his number I wanted them to know that so they would stop calling. So I wait, and the recording comes back on and says "sorry we have no available agents. we will call you back." What is that? You waste my time and then tell me you will call me again? People need to pay their bills so that this job of collecting is obsolete.

Postponed

Today was the day that we were to get our family portraits done....but it was raining. I was so upset that I almost went with the shoot anyways, well it was overcast by then but the ground would be wet. So our pictures are outside at the Arboretum and in my head we were frolicking thru the grass barefoot and happy. Since this is my view we rescheduled for Thursday evening, not too far off but further from Mar's 1st birthday :( I cant wait to do this and I don't know how i will hold back.

Since we didn't have the photo shoot we stayed home to spring-clean the downstairs and rearranged the furniture. Much better! Now things are a little more open for our new little walker.

Marlee learned how to get up on her own off the ground so i think we are done with crawling.

Ohhh yeah...I adopted us a US soldier today. We will be sending them cards and care packages to help those soldiers that do not have someone back home to help. I cannot wait to see who we get and what they need. They are the reason that i am blogging and i want to give back to them as much as they have done for my babies. I love my freedom!

Let me just say that again, I LOVE MY FREEDOM! Thank you!

School is ending soon and the all imposing July is coming, what to do, what to do? Are we going home, are we going somewhere else? Will Jeremy be coming with us?
Ok so for those of you who don't know Jeremy is a traveling CT tech and we are currently in Boston, MA and have been on and off since Oct 07. Well July Jeremy has to take a month off here and we are not sure what they are going to do with him. Will they send him to another hospital to bide his time or will we be on a month long vacation. I don't know which i would prefer. We are trying to save enough money for a decent size property and house and having a month off would prolly cut into those funds and we wont be putting more in...but the boat has been calling our name...what to do? A year ago i was a mom to a newborn sleeping all the time and staying in while Jeremy and Devin were on the boat, fishing and swimming everyday! I kinda want that for him again, he works so hard for all of us and I think it would be a well deserved break. But man not working is not working.

We also finally got to bring the new truck home...34 miles on it driven off the lot! I am so proud of Jeremy he knew what he wanted and stuck to it and got what he asked for. He is the proud owner of a 2009 Silver Honda Ridgeline. I love it! Jeremy says it is the girls truck since we will be in it more than him but i know that it is his and i am lucky to be driving it...thanks Jeremy!
I am thinking about getting the photographer to take some pics of us and the truck...do you think that is corny??? Jeremy thinks so but i think it shows us as who we are, No????

Right on,
another chapter bites the dust....

My Baby is a Toddler Now!

What can I say she is all over the place! She only crawls when she needs to get to something to stand up, and then off she goes. Sometimes it is just back and forth across the livingroom...practicing. When she learns something new she will do it over and over again until perfected.
Marlee's 1st birthday was Saturday. Devin and I went to the local party shop and raided thier clearance section for supplies. We got some rainbow pony themed plates, napkins, tablecloth, centerpiece, and banner. We also picked up hats for us and a special hat for Mar. She dug into her cake but really only wanted the pink letter icing. She didnt get all messy either.
She had fun and then we had Tball pictures to go to, hope those turn out good. And later Devin had a game. I let Jeremy rest up since the next day was my day off.

Mothers Day was good, I got to sleep in. We had to go to Devs game @ 11 and then the rest of the day was all me. We picked up some Tonys togo and headed to the Harvard Arboretum for Lilac Sunday....ahhhhhhhhhhhh. We found a great spot in the middle of the rose garden down a path all to ourselves and laid out to have a pick-i-nic. We had a good time and then we went to look around the gardens. We found some crafts for Dev to do and we marched in a musical parade to the lilacs....
Now the lilacs deserve thier own post, they were so beautiful and the smells....but i am not going to.
So back to my mothers day...and the lilacs
We walked thru the lilac garden and saw so many different kinds, I was not aware of all the different kinds. It was breathtaking. We has so much fun smelling and taking pics. We walked down a little further, since i was also scoping out some spots for our upcoming portraits there, and found the greenhouse. They had an area of miniature trees that had some older than 200 that were amazing. Marlee and I actually have a playdate there tomorrow that i am excited about, that is how much I am in love with this place. I cannot wait to explore the whole thing!

Took Marlee to the dr on monday for her 1 yr appt and everything looks good. Yay.

On another note I met a mommy today that had a 10 month old and a 5-6 yr old and we may have a playdate coming up. We will see...
Til I post again.

St Judes

I just wanted to put a post about St Judes.

With the way things are in the economy, charities need our help more than ever. We have a special place in our hearts for St Judes in this house. Let me tell you the main reasons why...

#1 is kids! They are a childrens hospital that excepts everyone, insurance or not. All the treatment there is free, unless you can afford to pay something. How great is that? No matter how sick or poor you are, you know that your children will be taken care of. Please look them up and try to add them to your list of charities that you give to each year.

If you dont have money to give then volunteer, especially if you have kids. They need to know that there are people out there that are worse off and we as their common man should lend a hand. We need to stick together as humans instead of fighting one another. We are in continual battle no matter where you turn. Everyone is fighting someone over which one is right. We need to step back and help people instead of bringing each other down.

So give to the ones that need it if you have it. Most of us are able-bodies that need to be humbled every now and again.

On a complete other note(but i cant get it off my mind), my daughters 1st birthday is tomorrow!

If you need anymore info on where to get started volunteering let me know and i can point you in the right direction. I know of lots of places that are begging for help!
https://volunteer.united-e-way.org/ this site can help you find ways to volunteer as a family.

Good Luck and Happy Volunteering!

what was i thinking?

Day to Day??? I knew that i could never keep this up day to day but i really need to start trying. I wait so long that there is so much to write and then i dont want to waste that much time. I feel like the snip-its arent enough but the long ones are a pain.

OK so here is what has happened since last weekend. I took Dev and Mar to the park for a gmae while Jeremy was ordering his truck. Too bad i wish he could have been there. This game was played at a different field that had an electronic scoreboard and announcer that never got devs name right until her last at bat...oh well she should get used to it. This time though he was getting her first name wrong. They made sure to come over and ask us how to pronounce our last name but got the first one wrong....Devon is not how i spelled her name so that this wouldnt happen. Ok so in the end he got it right and they had a great game, even getting 3 outs in the top of the last inning! GO Guppies!
On sunday we went to a may fair in harvard square and skipped devs practice. it was pretty cool to walk around and see all the vendors and fair food....yummy! We walked around for awhile and found a really cool gift for my very good friend KimmyT, whose birthday is one day after marlees(marlee wasnt about to share her day). We also saw a hot air balloon being blown up. It took a long time and it was huge, they had it staked to 4 vehicles. But we saw the ending result and dev was amazed. The reason this was so cool for me is that we went to NM for a wedding/my bday and i was telling dev that they have these huge races there and how cool it was but she had never seen a hot air balloon and wasnt getting the picture i was painting for her. I never thought that we would get to see one in person.
Sunday was also the day that i started weaning marlee. so far pretty good(as i write this 4 days later)...
I am in so much pain and i cant wait for it to get better. It took 48 hours for me to be able to put my arms down by my side, but now it is slightly better. I can move around and get down and play with the baby now so that seems to make her happier. She is walking all over the place now, the only time i see her crawl is to get to wherever she needs to be able to pull herself up. It will be a long time before she learns how to stand up on her own. She doesnt try at all. When she does learn something new she will do it over and over again until she figures it out. She is amazingly smart but doesnt care about communicating. I think the 2nd one never does. She also gets into to everything that i take away. She only wants what she cant have. I Love Her!
So today we are off to whole foods to find a cake i can make for the upcoming bday, and off to the PO to ship some stuff. Man i hate that line.
Saw devs wrestling practice and she got taken down in the first one and in the secind she got a leg and put him down into a hold and won! She is pretty aggresive with it but doesnt pay enough attention to be really good. She is there for the social aspect.
The game was cancelled due to inclimate weather and i am not sure if it will be made up....hope so.
We also will try to transplant our sprouts(well the ones that sprouted) today.
Did i express how much i love the spring. It is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. i will take some pics as soon as there is a bright sunshiney day.
All righty then ta ta for now!

How you been doing?

We have been doing fine, just very busy.
Recap: Devin and I went to children's play in Hyde Park, it was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. This movie is the first movie that Dev would sit thru and it saved our sanity on the car ride from Panama City to Boston. And since this is my all time favorite, this was a sure thing. We had so much fun, although if you ask Dev what her favorite part was she will tell you when she got to blow her $3 bubbles for the fizzy drink act and the $2 everlasting gobstoppers. But she did pay attention to the whole thing and was loving every minute of it!

Next day we got up early and went to the Gore Place for the 22ND Annual Sheep shearing Festival. They had sheep being sheared by hand and electric. They also had sheep and goat herding dogs. We had to pay $20 to get in, unbeknowst to me i thought it was free. So anyways, like i said in the last post we didn't have much time. We ended up staying for 1:45 min. So we went straight to the sheep and saw them shearing with a razor and the sheep was so calm and i think happy to lose all the dreads. The guy said that they have never hurt the sheep so that is why they are so docile in the process. Since they have never been hurt by the farmers, they are not afraid of them, the dogs another story. Then we went to the hand-shearing tent, where the guy doing it has prolly been doing it his whole life. He sheared the whole sheep by hand with these huge scissors and then laid out the fleece, truly amazing to us. They even gave us some fresh fleece to take home! It was extremely oily and needed to be washed, but still how cool? Then we went to watch the herding dogs! This was absolutely phenomenal. Everyone should be able to watch these beautiful natural instints take place. The dogs were amazing in thier ability to listen and observe the whole field and know exactly what was going on at all times. They knew thier place and thier job and they did it like they loved it. Like the saying goes, "It isnt working if you love it", and these dogs did not seem to be "working". They even had a 9 month old who was leashed the whole time except for once when he was let go and he went crazy trying to round up the sheep and goats, it was very entertaining. We could have watched them all day. Nature at its best!
Next day we went to the park for a stroll, bike lessons and a pick-a-nic basket. All right so everything was great, we found a good spot on the charles river and we ate and sat around enjoying the breeze and mother nature. All right so Tiger and I went on a run, well Tiger runs after me on Devs bike, anyways we go and drop the bike off at the car and go back to meet the Co. and right when i meet up with them Marlee falls out the stroller and catches herself with her face. We pick her up and she was just pouring blood and screaming and Jeremy freaks out and says we need to go to hospital. So i ride in the back with the girls and i am trying to convey to jeremy that we need to reevaluate the situation and finally i get him to. He decides that he wants to pay a doc to let us know that she is ok. We get to the ER and they are setting up a quarrantine area for suspected flu patients(no good). While we wait the 2 hours to see a dr we decide that it is a school night and we need to get home and we leave.

Next day i drop dev off at school and proceed to the pedis office. Dr says she is good and all is ok!

Two days later Dev has wrestling practice and then straight to a game. She did as good as she can. Tonys is loving us and the late games.

Yesterday-Jeremy tried to buy us a new truck but the dealer doesnt take bank drafts. Too Bad for them, it was a guarenteed sale. Too bad for us, i am still in the company rental :(

Today Dev has practice and Marlee is walking all over the place. Wherever she wants to go. She cannnot stand without pulling up but once she is there off she goes. She thinks she is the funniest and coolest kid. We must give her that impression...

Wow so this has turned into a novel and you are lucky cuz i am stopping. The school just called and i have to go and pick devin up cuz she has a rash on her chin from jawline to jawline. so since i have to drive all the way there to check it out then i am just going to pick her up! Happy Friday and I hope everyone has a great weekend!
